What is ChatGPT? Should Content Writers Be Worried?

What is ChatGPT

What the hell is ChatGPT? Why Everybody is Talking? I’m a Content Writer, Should I be Worried? Let’s know!

On 30th November 2022, an AI tool was launched called “ChatGPT” by OpenAI, a company that is popular for bringing AI-based new technological tools like DALL-E 2 and GPT-3.

In this digital era, we have AI tools for every sector, starting from writing to high-level programming, but this tool took the digital world by storm and made everyone’s jaw drop, some in amazement and others in awe.

Some writers and content creators are both anxious and frustrated because of this tool because the tool is very capable of replacing jobs, especially in content writing. 3/4th of the internet world has been talking about this but, you aren’t aware of the AI-powered chatbot.

Don’t worry, we’re here to let you know everything about ChatGPT. What is ChatGPT? Pros and Cons of ChatGPT And other things like Will ChatGPT take my Job? Will ChatGPT replace Google? And all that kind of stuff. We will try to answer all these kinds of questions. So now what, let’s dive into the article.

What is ChatGPT?

If you aren’t aware,  ChatGPT, in technical terms,  is a language model developed and launched by OpenAI that uses deep learning algorithms to generate human-like text responses to a given prompt. It was trained on a large corpus of text data (up to 2021), allowing it to respond to a wide range of questions and topics.

It’s a state-of-the-art language model that has been trained on a humongous dataset collected from the internet, allowing it to generate text that is human-like in terms of quality and coherence.

One of the most and also our favorite features of ChatGPT is its ability to understand and respond to context. This means that it can continue a conversation, answer questions, provide information, and even make recommendations, all in a way that mimics human-like interaction. This makes ChatGPT a powerful tool for companies and organizations that are looking to engage with customers in a more personalized and conversational way but without hiring an actual human.

To date, ChatGPT has been integrated into several applications, including customer service chatbots, virtual assistants, and conversational interfaces for websites and mobile apps. This allows businesses to provide a more natural and human-like experience to their customers, while also improving efficiency and reducing costs associated with traditional customer service channels.

Pretty interesting, isn’t it? As of now, the use of ChatGPT is free, but according to some estimates, OpenAI spends almost $3 million per month to keep it going. Consequently, the AI pioneer will also release its premium version shortly.

What are the Features of ChatGPT?

Since its launch, OpenAI has been updating the tool‘s features and constantly enhancing the optimization. ChatGPT has several unique features that set it apart from other conversational AI models.

  • Firstly, it has a massive knowledge base.
  • Secondly, ChatGPT has a natural language processing (NLP) engine that enables it to understand the meaning of the words used in a conversation.
  • Thirdly, it is highly scalable.
  • Finally, ChatGPT can be customized to suit the specific needs of a business.

Let’s know about each of them briefly below:

1. Enormous Knowledge Base

The language model has been trained on a massive corpus of text data from the internet, which means it can answer a wide range of questions and engage in discussions on a variety of topics. This makes ChatGPT ideal for customer service applications, where it can handle a wide range of customer inquiries.

2. Powered by NLP

This allows the AI chatbot to engage in human-like conversations and respond in a way that is meaningful to the person it is speaking to.

3. Superior Scalability

Makes it ideal for use in large enterprises and customer service centers. With its ability to handle a large volume of conversations simultaneously, it can reduce response times and improve the customer experience.

4. Huge Customizability

For example, the tool can be trained to answer questions related to a specific industry or product, making it a powerful asset for customer service and a great example of using AI in marketing.

What are the Pros and Cons of ChatGPT?

Similar to other available AI tools, ChatGPT also has its pros and cons, which makes it balanced and specific for some users. Here are some of the pros and cons that we noticed using the chat tool.

Pros of ChatGPT

  1. High Accuracy: Since ChatGPT has been trained on a large dataset and has high accuracy in generating human-like responses, it makes it ideal for customer support, as it can answer customer queries with minimal human intervention.
  2. Customizable: The chatbot can be fine-tuned to suit the specific needs of a business or organization. This allows for more effective and personalized responses, resulting in improved customer experience.
  3. Time-saving: By automating customer support, ChatGPT can significantly reduce response times, freeing up human agents to handle more complex tasks.

Cons of ChatGPT

  1. Limited Contextual Understanding: Although ChatGPT has been trained on a large dataset, it cannot fully understand the context. This can result in inappropriate or irrelevant responses.
  2. Lack of Empathy: It is not capable of empathizing with customers, which is a critical aspect of customer support. This can lead to a lack of personal connection and a negative customer experience.
  3. Not Viable for Everyone/High Cost: The cost of deploying and maintaining a ChatGPT-based model can be high, making it unsuitable for small businesses or organizations with limited budgets.

These are some of the key things that you need to know about ChatGPT, now let’s examine some of the often-asked questions about the OpenAI tool.

Will ChatGPT Replace Google?

In our opinion, nah, ChatGPT will never replace Google. It is not designed to replace Google. It’s an AI language model developed just to answer questions, like a human, and perform other language-related tasks.

Google, on the other hand, is a search engine that provides a vast amount of information on the internet. Instead of mimicking a human-like answer, Google provides human-friendly results that can’t be replaced by ChatGPT as it is not a search engine.

Google also offers a variety of other services such as email, maps, and cloud storage. While ChatGPT can assist in finding information and answering questions, it is not a substitute for a search engine like Google that has become a part of personal and professional lives for many.

The biggest con of ChatGPT is that if you ask a question in different ways it will always reply to you with one common answer.

Imagine you are asking a question about Donald Trump, the chatbot feeds you one common answer for all users which may lead to a biased statement.

For example, a single point of view about Donald Trump:

ChatGPT Donald Trump Question

But on the other hand, if you asked questions about Donald Trump on Google, you can see plenty of results that feed you different perspectives of “real human” so that would be healthy and reasonable suggestions. We hope you understood the actual problem with the ChatGPT.

I’m a Content Writer, Should I be Worried?

As a content writer, you should not be worried about ChatGPT replacing your job. Instead, you can leverage it. For doing that, you should be aware of its limitations.

While AI can generate content quickly, it may not be as in-depth and relevant as content created by a human. Also, ChatGPT is limited to the information it was trained on (valid till 2021), so it may not have the cultural context, nuance, or creativity that a human writer could bring to the table.

Currently, the AI chatbot was fed with the 2021 update, so right now, there is no chance that ChatGPT will take your job. But ultimately, it is up to the content creator to determine the best way to utilize AI-generated content and to ensure that it is properly edited, proofread and reviewed before being published.

Wrapping it All Up

In conclusion, ChatGPT is a powerful tool powered by natural language processing and conversational AI. Its ability to generate coherent responses in real-time, its versatility, and its scalability makes it a popular choice for organizations and businesses looking to incorporate AI into their operations.

Google has also launched its experimental conversational AI tool, Bard AI that is believed to give a run for money to ChatGPT. Hopefully, we will see more conversational AIs seeing the light of the day.

Currently, ChatGPT can’t take your job, but we’re not certain about the future. Instead of complaining about AI tools, we all have to accept the current trend and start to utilize these kinds of AI tools to make progress in our professional lives.
